ECO CHILDREN

The Organisation

Eco Children, a non-profit organization initiated by the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, focuses on hands-on environmental education and whole school development. 

Our goal is to improve environmental awareness and education among the youth, leading to better conservation and economic outcomes for South Africa.

Mission

We empower the children in rural Mpumalanga and Limpopo by developing their capacity to flourish and become catalysts of positive change in their families and communities.

We sow seeds of change by creating an environment conducive to learning, increasing their awareness of conservation; improving the quality of their education; and providing opportunities for talented learners.

Vision

We want to solve the burdens of poverty through access to quality education.

"We feel very honoured and proud to be a part of the Eco Children programme. We are working hard to set a good example to our surrounding schools. Since we have started with Eco Children, we have noticed our enrolment is higher, fewer absentees, and our surrounding environment is much cleaner with noticeably less litter. We are very proud that we have had three students (from our school) chosen to be a part of the Bursary Programme. This has motivated not only the students, but the teachers and the community too."
